First Editorial?

Very exciting news - the fashion editors and stylists of Seattle Bride and Seattle Metropolitan Bride and Groom magazines asked to borrow some dresses for some upcoming editorials. While it's not a guarantee, hopefully some of our beautiful gowns will be featured in these gorgeous magazines.

Local bridal magazines are a really great source of information. In addition to the fashion spreads, they talk about local resources and feature real weddings of Washington brides (maybe you even know or have attended some!).

Panache Bridal Luncheon and Fashion Show

The Columbia Tower Club hosts an annual bridal luncheon, and this year Calla Bridal was lucky enough to participate by having some of our designs featured in the fashion show! Front and center were some of Matthew Christopher's stunning gowns, followed by a few Vineyard favorites, and a classic Janet Nelson Kumar lace number. For a slideshow, visit Azzura's web site, as Tania was the featured photographer of the event. The slideshow Tania put together is really fantastic!

By the way - the Columbia Tower Club is a breathtaking venue for any event. The food was divine and the views were unbeatable.

Special thanks to Jeannie of StyleLab who styled the fashion show!

New Jewelry by Shamila

I had the pleasure of meeting local jewelry phenom Shamila recently, as she showed me her work. As she described her pieces to me, I really understood her love of gemstones and saw how that translated into beautiful, timeless jewelry.

Using gemstone grade amethyst, rock crystal, smoky quartz, labradorite and more, Shamila has created delicate yet bold pieces sure to make you shine!

Matthew Christopher Trunk Show

I just found out today that Matthew Christopher gown expert Cynthia Vitacolonna will be coming to Seattle March 20-22 to host a trunk show!! This is very exciting as it will be the first time his 2009 collection is unveiled here in the Emerald City.

I cheated and snuck a preview on marthastewart.com, and let me tell you, I can't wait. Some of my favorites:

As you can see in the images, it looks like this collection is available in both strapless and with straps.

Stunning.

Photo "Booth"

Here is a great idea that my husband came across on a site called Digital Photography School.

This past year, we attended a wedding in LA where, during the reception, there was a photo booth. This was pretty fun, very popular, and best of all, the bride and groom were able to view all the pictures later (fyi for all x-rated revelers) and use them for scrapbooks, etc. Well, for those of you who are not so keen on renting a photo booth - how about setting up your own?

Set up an area with a curtain background, good lighting, and a tripod. Put a point and shoot camera set on a timer so people can take pics of themselves. Be creative with props or backgrounds, and you will have unique memories of your special day!

Here is the post, it's item #3.
